Early Warning Signs of Ovarian Cancer

What are the early warning signs of ovarian cancer? This is a very difficult question to answer, because while there are symptoms in the beginning stages of the disease, they tend to be so mild that both the woman herself and her doctors may not think the symptoms are indicative of ovarian cancer. This is particularly the case if the woman doesn’t have ovarian cancer in her family’s history. Yet, it’s still helpful if women are at least aware of the most common signs of ovarian cancer. By knowing what the symptoms are, she may not discredit the possibility of ovarian cancer, especially if they get worse in a relatively short period of time. This article will help women obtain this knowledge by explaining in detail the two main warning signs: abdominal pain and urinary incontinence.

Abdominal Pain

The first sign of ovarian cancer that you should look out for is abdominal pain. This is due to the ovarian tumors attacking the abdomen, resulting in fluid build-up that puts pressure on the nerves. Yet, the pain may not feel much different than what a woman gets if she has a tummy ache or even bad gas. So, the key is going to be how long the abdominal pain lasts. Tummy aches and gas usually don’t last too long, especially when the source of what is causing the problem gets taken care of. The abdominal pain will be chronic and worsen over time. In the latter stages of ovarian cancer, the pain will be accompanied with abdominal girth and digestive problems.

Urinary Incontinence

Urinary incontinence is also a very common symptom of ovarian cancer. This is when a woman has an abnormal urge to urinate more than normal. When she does go to the bathroom, she may or may not actually urinate. Sometimes a woman may even leak urine even if she has gone to the bathroom. Now, incontinence is a much more significant than abdominal pain, so it may prompt a woman to seek at least a check-up. However, even the gynecologist may not realise what the problem is. This is because urinary incontinence can be a symptom of other diseases, some of which aren’t even serious. An example is a urinary tract infection, a condition that can easily be treated with antibiotics. Yet, if the urinary tract infection is really indicative of ovarian cancer, antibiotics will not get it to go away.

So, what does a woman do if she exhibits any of the early warning signs of ovarian cancer? She needs to go to the doctor and let them know she has concerns over whether or not her symptoms are a result of the condition. The doctor will evaluate whether or not she is at high risk for the disease. If she is the doctor will probably suggest ovarian cancer screening. If she isn’t the doctor will probably wait to see if the symptoms progress before suggesting any official screening. The reason this is the case is because women who are not at high risk for ovarian cancer tend to get misdiagnosed when they get ovarian cancer screening. Doctors want to avoid the possibility of a woman getting unnecessary ovarian cancer treatment.

Viagra: great for your sexual activity and heart

On the 7th of August, 2002 Sildenafil was proclaimed a trust-worthy and safe treatment of erectile dysfunction. The results on an online report showed that this research has been done by the journalists of a famous US magazine that tested people with congestive heart failure. The results of the research have also shown that Sildenafil may even be able to improve the heart condition creating new possibilities for heart disease treatment.

The main author Edimar A. Bocchi, MD, from the Sao Paulo University Medical School in Brazil had to say the following upon the results of the research:” We don’t want to give people hope and take it away too soon. We are still not sure how the erectile dysfunction ingredient can help your heart condition but we hope that people who are willing to take ED pills will be more motivated to consume their heart tablets”.

According to Edimar A. Bocchi’s interview, the ingredient known as Sildenafil produces the bigger amount of nitric oxide, which is linked with the function of the heart and blood vessels. Edimar also mentioned that erectile dysfunction used to be an issue on its own and in order for people to start treating it, different catches and medication traps were introduced.

So this is how the whole study began. First of all, researches invited 23 men with different stages of congestive heart failure. All over them were 50 years or old or around that age. These people were also examined to consume their erectile dysfunction treatment. Every single day these 23 men had to go through a routine that consisted of walks for 6 minutes averagely and an exercise test. Before they were to start their walks and exercises men were given erectile dysfunction pill names Viagra. The dose was not big – average one – 50 mg. the results have shown that Sildenafil (Viagra) have these 23 men no effects that could damage their health or harm them in any way.

Compared to other drugs or elements they were given on the other days of experiment the patients have given brilliant results on their exercise performance, total exercise time, blood pressure and heart rate, measures of oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production, and scores on an ED questionnaire. This gave researches a possibility to think whether or not Viagra can be used as the heart disease treatment. Due to the fact that Viagra is such a popular erectile dysfunction drug it should be mentioned that the popularity could help it to become the drug that does both favors to the body.

The tablet that was struggling to get its way to the top is finally here on the very top of the medication world. Erectile dysfunction problems have appeared many years ago but back then medication left to desire something better. Now this better can be purchases on different websites and in different drug-stores across the country. Sildenafil is strong and useful. It should be prescribed and looked after. Buy Viagra — no more erectile dysfunction

It’s is great science when someone gets an unexpected result in an experiment and sets out to discover the reason. So it was that Dr Patricia Hunt, who studies genetics at Case Western Reserve University, tracked down the cause when her control group of mice showed up with unexpected cell damage. These mice were living quiet lives, cut off from all the usual chemicals then known to cause genetic damage. Yet they were falling ill. Testing everything, she found that some strong detergent used to clean their cages was causing the plastic to bubble. When she analysed these bubbles, she found them full of Bisphenol A (BPA). Injecting different groups of mice with different concentrations of BPA damaged the genetic quality of their cells. She announced her discovery in 1998 and, since then, the evidence shows that BPA along with a number of other chemicals in our environment can and do cause genetic damage. If this was limited to mice, we would not worry. Unfortunately, these chemicals affect humans as well. BPA is classified as an endocrine disruptor, i.e. it affects the way in which hormones are released and affect the body. If you were wondering why so many of our children are showing up with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, the answer in part lies with the increasing levels of adrenaline pumping into their blood stream. Many have also been found to have high levels of BPA in their blood. Curiously, men working in factories manufacturing plastic and exposed to BPA are more likely to suffer erectile dysfunction and prostate cancer.

Some countries have been very fast to act, banning chemicals whenever they are suspected of causing damage to humans. Long lists of additives are banned from our food. Ten years ago, Japan banned the use of BPA in all products used by babies and infants. In 2010, France followed suit. Four individual US states have also banned BPA in plastic bottles used for drinks and food storage in the baby market. But the Federal Government has no plans to even limit the use of BPA. This leaves chemicals like BPA and the phthalates freely circulating in our environment. They are in almost everything we eat, drink and touch. This makes the human community one giant research experiment to discover the extent to which all these chemicals may cause cancers, heart disease and, more worryingly, reproductive problems.

Scientists monitoring the rate at which human reproduce have noticed a sharp decline in the sperm count. Although lifestyle changes explain some of the reduction in the birth rate, more babies are being born with genetic damage to their sexual organs and more adult men are experiencing erectile dysfunction and impotence. Working out cause and effect is always a challenge when you are talking about changes only observable over fifty years and more. So many different stimuli may interact and produce results. In the meantime, men with erectile dysfunction can continue sexual activity thanks to the development of viagra. It genuinely does enable men to enjoy hard and long-lasting erections. Unfortunately, even though you do buy viagra, it cannot treat the underlying causes of the dysfunction. That is always down to the skills of your doctor to diagnose the cause and find a treatment for it. With diabetes and heart disease, there are established treatments. Dealing with the cocktail of chemicals we eat and drink is a completely different matter.

Meridia – health risks associated with obesity

Most of us are quite relaxed when seeing additional pounds crawling up on the scales. And while it may be not so dramatic on the first sight, every additional pound you gain could lead to serious health complications in the future. For some, it may even be life-threatening, no matter how pathetic this may sound. Having additional weight can catalyze certain processes in your body that will lead to serious health concerns later on. When you understand that each pound gained over your normal weight is a threat to your health, you will be more attentive with what you eat and how you treat your body. And to make these risks more concrete, here are the six most common health concerns overweight people face:

Hypertension

The most common health concern people with excessive weight have to deal with is of course hypertension (high blood pressure). Those who have excessive fat amounts in their bodies have high levels of sodium, which provokes high blood pressure. When hypertension is not controlled it puts additional stress on your entire body, especially on the heart and this will eventually decrease your life expectancy.

Diabetes

Diabetes is quite common is overweight and obese persons, especially type 2 diabetes. The greater the excess of mass is, the more likely it is that you will develop diabetes in a short period of time. Diabetes has a very strong impact over the entire body, affecting the nervous and cardiovascular system.

Sleep apnea

Sleep apnea is quite common in those who have weight problems. Moreover, the greater is the excess of weight the sooner you will develop this health condition, which poses a great risk to the body and can result in a stroke.

Arthritis

The extra weight that overweight and obese persons have to carry often leads to arthritis complications such as osteoarthritis. The excessive pressure on the bones and joints makes the protective cartilage fade away faster than with people who do not have weight problems.

Heart attack

People with excessive weight have higher risk of experiencing heart attacks than any other groups of people. Factors such as bad cholesterol, hypertension and diabetes contribute to the risk of having a heart attack, and they are quite common in overweight and obese people.

Cancer

Recent studies have indicated that obese persons have higher risk of developing different types of cancer that are harder to diagnose and treat. And the more the excess of weight, the higher is the risk of having this serious health problem.

Now you know that being overweight and especially obese is not as harmless as you could imagine earlier. Of course, you shouldn’t buy Meridia or any other weight loss drugs if you have only a couple of excessive pounds. However, if your family doctor has classified you as overweight or obese, you should start losing weight as soon as possible in order to prevent the development of the aforementioned health concerns. Eat healthy food, exercise on a regular basis, buy drugs like Meridia to lose weight faster. The longer you keep on those excessive pounds the higher will be the risk of having serious health problems due to being overweight.

Skelaxin – playing with muscle relaxants isn’t safe

A couple of years ago muscle relaxant medications have made a big stir in the press because of several deaths associated with cases of such drugs being abused. This, of course lead to several profile federal agencies to take a closer look at such drugs.

One of the first reported cases dates back to 1996-1996 when a hospital staff was convicted in killing six senior patients in the hospital, by introducing exceeded doses of muscle relaxant medications Pavulon and succinylcholine chloride. These drugs have depressed the respiratory systems of the patients, which has lead to fatal suffocation.

In a series of other accidents that lead to five deaths during a short period of time, a large pharmaceutical company has voluntary discounted Rapalon – a popular muscle relaxant medication at that time. Rapalon was specifically used to relax the airways when doctors had to insert breathing tubes during complicated surgeries. However, because of the abnormal breathing and depression of respiratory functions the drug was taken off the market completely.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) already had relevant data on the potential hazards of Rapalon. Symptoms as bronchospasms – the depression and abnormal breathing functions – are commonly reported when overdosing with muscle relaxant medications, however with Raplon it was a common side-effect observed in 3.2% of all people who used it.

Rapalon was the twelfth medication taken off the shelves after being approved by the FDA since 1997. Of course, this has caused quite a stir in the press and many people question the rapid approval procedures the FDA carries out for certain drugs. The Administration is caught between two fires in this situation. On one hand the Congress forces them to speed up the approval process, while the general public is concerned by the safety of the drugs that pass through such rapid approval.

Muscle relaxants

Muscle relaxants are a specific group of drugs comprised of numerous medications that are designed to address two different types of medical conditions: muscle pain and muscle spasticity. Although, there is a large number of muscle relaxant medications approved by the FDA the vast majority of them is used only for treating muscle pain and spasms, while only a few drugs are specifically aimed at spasticity issues.

Spasticity is sometimes hard to define, but in general it is characterized by abnormal response to the muscle reflex triggering signals, with phases of over-excitement and excessive activity of the muscles due to different neurological conditions. The most common of such conditions include cerebral palsy, post-stroke recovery, multiple sclerosis, brain injury, and spinal cord injury.

As with muscular pain, there’s a wide range of conditions causing such a problem. Still, there are drugs like Skelaxin that can be regarded as one of the most safe muscle relaxant medications if compared to other medications. However, due to the potential risks drugs like Skelaxin can pose to one’s health or life, it is strongly advised to use these medications only with a doctor’s prescription and not exceeding the dosage indicated in the prescription label. Otherwise, you risk experiencing severe side effects that can have tragic consequences.

Tramadol and the Eighth Amendment

One of the standard complaints coming from the right of the political spectrum is that doctors are continuously under threat from attorneys. It seems there is a steady supply of these pesky lawyers around who are prepared to sue doctors who may have made a mistake. Whatever happened to deference? Doctors always used to enjoy some degree of professional respect with mistakes quietly forgotten. Now insurance premiums are rising and there are real threats to professional reputation from these unfounded allegations of mistakes. Many states have various shield provisions to limit or restrict the right of patients to sue. Obviously, the medical profession has considerable influence over the lawmaking process and they can manipulate the politics to get protection. But many of the attempts to exclude liability for medical mistakes at a federal level have always run into the other lobby. Trial attorneys spend a lot of money keeping the Democrats happy so the law of tort remains available as a law of consumer protection. Without it, patients who are victims of mistakes would never have a remedy and really bad doctors would have immunity just because of the shingle hanging above their doors.

In the majority of developed countries around the world, doctors are held legally accountable for any mistakes they make. The idea is to encourage all in the medical field to deliver a high quality service to patients. If there is no accountability, there is no real incentive to maintain, let alone improve, the standard of care. This makes the US a really strange place. Ordinary citizens, living out their lives in towns and cities, have no constitutional right to high quality medical care. But prisoners are protected by the Eighth Amendment. For those of you not up on constitutional law, this is a right not to be exposed to cruel and unusual punishment – as a hint, this is why terrorist suspects have been kept offshore in Guantanamo Bay. So here are a sample of the successful cases bought by prisoners against their prison doctors and dentists. In Board v. Farnham, there was a breach of a prisoner’s rights because he had been denied toothpaste for three weeks and developed an infection. The court in Rodriguez v. Plymouth Ambulance Service allowed an action when the prison hospital refused to treat a prisoner’s arm and it became painful and infected. Even the failure to dispense antibiotics was unlawful according to Gil v. Reed.

The legal test is whether the failure to treat is evidence of deliberate indifference that the prisoners will experience pain. If so, the refusal to give proper treatment becomes a part of the punishment regime. Researchers should explore how often doctors in the free world are indifferent to their patients’ needs. Many doctors seem disinterested, not to say uninterested, in what we say about our symptoms including the level of pain. This is unacceptable. If prison doctors and their employers are held accountable for failing to give effective treatment as needed, the same standard should be taken for law-abiding citizens. The constitution should not favor prisoners over the rest of the world. Everyone in pain should always be given effective treatment. This may well only be prescribing tramadol but, whatever is the right treatment, it should always be given. It should not be left to people to self-medicate by buying tramadol online.
